iPhone OS 3.1.3 Release

Written by Michael Swengel on February 2, 2010

As of today, Apple has released iPhone OS 3.1.3. This update is for all models of the iPhone and all models of the iPod Touch.

iPhone OS 3.1.3 Software Update

NOTE: If your device is jailbroken and/or unlocked, DO NOT UPDATE to firmware 3.1.3. This update WILL break your baseband.

To update your device to iPhone OS 3.1.3:

  1. Connect your iPhone / iPod Touch to iTunes.
  2. Select your device in the iTunes sidebar.
  3. Click ‘Update’ in the ‘Version’ section of the device info window.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts.
  5. iTunes will download and install the most recent update automatically.

Strangely, iPhone Developer Program members were not notified of 3.1.3, and no beta was released to program members. This makes me wonder if there is more to this release than is stated in the release notes.

This update follows the release of Apple’s tablet – the iPad – on January 27th and the release of iTunes 9.0.3
