In honor of the impending release of Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, here are 30 wallpapers to slap on your screen.
Ubuntu is a unique flavor of Linux – a free operating system first developed by Linus Torvalds in the 90’s. Ubuntu is open-source and is free to download, use, modify, and redistribute for any purpose.
Ubuntu is designed, developed and maintained by people for people. Unlike Apple’s Mac OS X or Microsoft’s Windows platforms, you are free modify and redistribute the system in any way you wish.
Ubuntu, by default, already includes all the basic applications you should need:

Ubuntu’s corporate sponsor is Canonical. Canonical hosts the Ubuntu repositories (vast collections of software available for fast installation from within the OS) and contributes monetarily to the project.
These wallpapers are designed for widescreen monitors with one of the following resolutions:
- 1920 x 1200
- 1680 x 1050
- 1440 x 900
- 1280 x 800
More will be coming soon – along with support for 4:3 monitors and resolutions up to 2560×1600.
